§ 39-307. Temporary speed limits in construction zones.
(a)
On any section of road where construction or major maintenance operations are being effected and where the state highways and transportation commission or local authorities have set a speed limit in such areas and where signs have been posted fixing said speed limits, it shall be unlawful to operate a motor vehicle in excess of said posted speed limits.
(b)
The chief of police, with respect to any section of road where construction or major maintenance operations are being effected within the city, may fix a temporary speed limit during the period of construction or major maintenance operations in such areas by the posting of appropriate signs, and where signs have been posted fixing said speed limits it shall be unlawful to operate a motor vehicle in excess of said posted speed limits.
