§ 35-10. Library fund.

Effective January 1, 2014, the City of Jackson, Missouri, is made a part of the free county library district in accordance with RSMo 182.040. Thereafter, no taxes shall be levied for the support of the city library. After that time the city shall continue to maintain the library fund as previously established and shall keep money remaining or collected for the maintenance of the city library in said library fund separate and apart from other money of the city. Such library fund shall only be used for the city's expense in closing the city library, in establishing and maintaining a library and reading room in the city community center's building or such other building as the city may establish, or in reimbursing the city for loans or subsidies previously provided to the city library. Upon all funds in the library fund being spent, the library fund shall be closed.
